IJSTIJD Haarlem brings skating, curling and winter festivities to the Lichtfabriek
A new winter attraction is coming to Haarlem
From 12 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, Haarlem’s Lichtfabriek will become IJSTIJD Haarlem. For 23 days, this landmark industrial venue will host a full winter experience. Visitors can skate, try curling, enjoy disco skating and live music, and unwind on a welcoming Winter Square with lights, food trucks and seasonal treats.
At the heart of IJSTIJD Haarlem is a large covered ice rink in the Turbine Hall. Around the rink, visitors of all ages can enjoy a welcoming festive atmosphere. Whether you take to the ice or watch from the Winter Square with a hot chocolate, IJSTIJD Haarlem offers an easy afternoon or evening out.
Skating among industrial landmarks
The impressive Turbine Hall provides the setting for the covered ice rink. Visitors can skate here every day. Ice-skating tickets can be reserved online for a specific time slot, guaranteeing entry to the rink. Skating aids are available for younger visitors.
On selected evenings, Disco Skating transforms the rink into a colourful winter disco. A DJ, spectacular lighting and festive music give the historic hall a completely different atmosphere. Santa Claus will also join visitors on the ice from time to time.
Curling for companies, friends and families
Alongside skating, visitors can try curling. After a short introduction, teams can get started straight away. The game is about teamwork, precision and, above all, having fun.
For companies, Company Curling combines a sporting activity with a winter drinks reception, dinner or a complete corporate package.
A lively Winter Square
There is plenty to enjoy even without skating. On the Winter Square, atmospheric lighting, winter decorations and inviting seating create a warm seasonal setting. Visitors can choose from food trucks, mulled wine, hot chocolate and winter treats. The large canopy keeps the square comfortable even in less favourable weather. Indoors, the Winter Café offers a cosy place to warm up between activities.
From Santa Claus to live music
Alongside the ice activities, IJSTIJD Haarlem presents a varied programme including:

The programme varies by day and will be announced in more detail as the opening approaches.
For companies and groups
IJSTIJD Haarlem is not only a winter outing for families and groups of friends, but also a distinctive venue for company outings, winter drinks receptions and end-of-year events.
Groups can combine skating, curling, food and drink, and entertainment in a fully organised package. Parts of the event, or even the entire venue, can also be booked exclusively.
